Flourishes Focus… Going, Going, Gone!

Free-for-All-Friday-550x242
It’s Flourishes Friday once again, and this week the design team is focusing on some of the amazing stamp sets that will be retiring soon!  Be sure to hop around to everyone’s blogs and see the creations using these sets that you’d better grab up now before they’re gone!  :)

For my card, I decided to use this good old set, Thinking of You.  I have always had this set, but have never really given it a second glance and had no idea how pretty and dainty these little flowers are!

I stamped the flowers and oval with Riding Hood Red ink and some Versamark so I could emboss with clear embossing powder.  Then I layered on a Nestabilities Oval and a Labels 18 die cut.  I embellished with some Sea Moss wrinkled seam binding from the Emerald Coast Color Made Easy collection, a Prima pearl flourish at the top left, and a Prima pearl stick pin through the bow.  The papers I used here are My Mind’s Eye.

My husbands motto…. Work Less, Fish More!

eP083012
I recently got a box of goodies in the mail from the eclectic Paperie store, and had to immediately get creative!  I mentioned once how much I loved this great Fish More stamp set from Wplus9 Design Studio, and Kim heard me and did not disappoint… I found these stamps and the matching dies in my box!  I could have hours of fun die-cutting these fishies and stamping them in different colors!  :)

The papers I used here are from the PB & J 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey… there’s such a great variety in that line!  The die behind the fish is the Vertical Greetings Die-Namics from My Favorite Things.

I hope you like my quick and simple little card today!  Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Color Throwdown #207

swatch 207
The weeks are just flyin’ by lately…Smiley from millan.net I can’t believe we’re up to Color Throwdown #207 already!  Lori is our hostess this week with these sweet summer colors!  I just loved this color combo, and I hope you’ll enjoy it, too!

For my card, I used the Sketch Challenge #86 for last week from My Favorite Things, but kept my design a little on the clean and simple side…. completely outside my normal style, but I’m quite pleased with how this turned out.
CTD207

I paired up some old Stampin’ Up designer paper with a new (to me!) ala’ modes stamp from MFT.  This one is called I’ve Got UR Back and I just love those big bold letters… so fun for paper-piecing!  I colored with Copics on X-Press It Blending cardstock and embellished with some green die-cuts… the Little Open Scallop Strip, Lead the Way, and Mini Tabs Foursome Die-Namics.  A few hot pink rhinestones finished off my card!

Flourishes Focus on Poppy Patch

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's Flourishes Friday and today the Sr. Design team is focusing on a beautiful old stamp set, the Poppy Patch!  This is a set I think I've had for a very long time, and have very sadly never used!  I LOVE poppies and keep bugging my husband every year to plant some in our yard, so why it's taken me this long to use these beautiful stamps is beyond me!  :)

For my card, I started out by using the Poppy Patch Silhouette cut file to cut out the shape of the poppy I wanted to use on kraft cardstock.  I then stamped my poppy using black Staz-On ink and watercolored using an aquapainter and some Barn Door and Forest Moss distress inks.  For the main sentiment on my card, I used the new "Sweetness of Friendship" stamp, and stamped this on a piece of Basic Grey Manila 6x6 paper.  I finished my card off with some distressed edges, a gingham double-bow, embossing, and some chocolate Kaisercraft pearls.

And here's the simple stamping I added to the inside of the card...

A Grandmother's Love...

Hello everyone, and happy "it's almost Friday and I have three days IN A ROW off!" Thursday!  :)  I have a card to share with you today using some fabulous supplies from the eclectic Paperie store!

I did some very simple stamping on this card with a sentiment from the new Clearly Sentimental about Grandparents "Triple Scoop" set at My Favorite Things, and added to my design by die-cutting a High Tea Party Doily Die-Namics and added a Simply Scallops Small border at the bottom.  I let my papers, the "Tangerine" line from My Mind's Eye do a lot of the work for me here with their pretty designs.... I'm a big fan of the color orange, so this line of paper is right up my alley!  I die-cut the sentiment piece with a Labels One Nesatibilities die, then embellished with a Maya Road canvas butterfly.  I made the butterfly a little yellow by spritzing it with Dried Marigold Ranger distress ink mixed with water in a Mini-Mister.  I embellished it with a few Kaisercraft pearls, and added some Graphic 45 brads to the top left corner of my card.

OK, I'm off for one more day of work, then three blessed days off!  Wooohooo!

Remember to check out my "Stamps for Sale" page!  More stamps coming later Thursday night and Friday morning!

Color Throwdown #206

Welcome to Wednesday and another Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our hostess is Kerri and she's chosen these soft pastels to work with today... isn't that inspiration photo just beautiful?  I admit, I was a little liberal with these colors... you'll find them in my design, along with several others!  Smiley from millan.net

I used my new Loads of Love Pure Innocence set for my card, and used the Guest Designer Sketch for My Favorite Things for the layout.  I also worked a few Die-Namics into my design including the Jumbo Ric-Rac, (I ran my Ric-Rac through the Cuttlebug twice to make them a little more narrow.) Mini Tabs Foursome, Vertical Greetings, and the new Lead the Way.  The papers I used here are new My Mind's Eye "Happy Day" 6x6 paper pad.

For some great additional inspiration using these colors, be sure to visit my Throwdown sisters!  And be sure to visit the Throwdown blog for all the challenge details.
